Dec 30, 2014 by Sensible Peswani Leave a Comment

increased cyber crimes in indiaThe official reports from the government state that there is an increase of almost 40% of annual Cyber Crimes in India over the past 2 years. Some of the most alleged online activities like phishing, spoofing, hacking, Cyber Defamation and more, are increasing at a rapid rate in India.

According to the reports from national ministry office, 71,780 cyber frauds were reported in 2013, while the number was 22,060 in 2012 and you’ll be shocked to know that 62,189 online incidents have been reported till June in 2014.

Various hackers group hacked almost 29,000 Indian websites were hacked by many professional hacking groups in the year, 2013. The number of hacking incidents were 27,605 in 2012 and 21,699 in 2011.

The report also says that these alleged crimes are mainly stem up from nations like US, Europe, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, China and Brazil. In one of Home Minister, Rajnath Singh’s debates, he said that monitoring cyber crimes in India is very much necessary for all as major terrorist groups, like ISIS can use web rooms to victimize their subjects.

As per the previous reports, 78 websites were hacked during the first half of last year, clearly showing how important it is to take security measures against these frauds.

It has been observed that the attackers compromise systems located in different parts of the world and user masquerading techniques and hidden servers to hide the identity of the actual system from which the attacks are being launched.

Here’s what one of the officials from government said:

‘Cyber space is virtual, borderless and anonymous due to which it becomes difficult to actually trace the origin of a cyber attack.’

After reading all this, it is sure that India is highly risked, regarding Cyber Crimes. In such conditions, according to me, Government should invest a heavy amount of money for the developement of highly-programmed technologies to preserve the digital insfrastructure of India.
