Danielle Bernstein, a 22-year old fashion blogger, the mind behind We Wore What recently spoke about her success in an interview with Harper Bazaar and there, she unveiled that she makes up to $15,000 for sharing a single Instagram post! Hilarious, isn’t it?
Like the most often fashion bloggers, Danielle posts snapshots of some of the most casual dresses she wear along with the complete information and details about it, i.e. from where to buy it and how to?
Now, the question is, how is she paid for sharing pictures of her common clothes. Actually this money comes from the brand which sponsor their dresses through the widely spread Instagram channel of We Wore What. What her followers might not guess is that many of those posts are the result of negotiations with fashion and lifestyle brands who might ask her not to include any competitors’ products in the same shot, or even in any other Instagram posts that week.
These fashion brands are ready to spend money whole-heartedly to sponsor their products. According to Harper’s bazaar report, such brands spend almost $1 billion every year to sponsor through various Instagram profiles. The amount a brand pays depends upon the number of followers that Instagram user has. Danielle also said that she’ll increase the price tags once We Wore What reaches 1 million followers.
Though Danielle haven’t yet mentioned the exact mount she earsn from blogging and these sponsored posts, all she had to say, “It’s more than I could have ever imagined [making] as a 22 year old. I fully support myself, and it’s in the mid-six figures. I save, I invest, I’m trying to be smart about it all and learn as I go.”
Here’s how Harper’s Bazaar explains the diagnosis of earning on Instagram on the basis of the followers.
On average, if you have hundreds of thousands of followers you can make anywhere from $500 to $5,000 a post, but if you have upwards of 6 million followers, your fee can be $20,000 to $100,000 a shot.
