Social Media has today become an enormous medium of sharing one’s word with another and this medium went even worse today, when actress Nandita Das said that “Every Man Is A Potential Rapist.” Reading it out, I halted, I became speechless, and people just like me, took action against it, made #NanditaDasQuotes the No. 1 trending hashtag over Twitter India. But did she really say that?
After this issue turned out to be an enormous controversy, Nandita Das gave her response, tweeting that she hasn’t made any such statement
I'm being falsely quoted Never said all men are rapists. What kind of a stupid generalisation is that? sad that 1 have to even explain this.

This tweet made everyone go in a deep research over the past printed stories and interviews of Nandita Das, and finally, we came across the correct page!
This Times of India article from 27th Nov, 2013 attributes the exact sentence to actress Nandita Das.
However, we still don’t have proper evidences to prove that Nandita Das actually tweaked this sentence over the article or the actress have forgotten that she had made any such statement in the past. No matter, what the truth is, the Twitter hailstorm has struck and it doesn’t seem to end that easily.
