Interview with Krishna Moorthy D
Q.1 Hey Krishna, first of all, welcome of SBIS. It’s a great pleasure to have you up here. Though you have become a popular figure online there are a few newbies who don’t know you. So how about a short introduction?
Hey Divyansh, thanks a inviting me to SBIS interview series and I’m glad to answer your questions! Hey readers, I’m Krishna Moorthy D; a blogger, SEO strategist and a growth hacker. I own some blogs where I help people to grow up in blogging and make money online activities. I currently manage Blogbeatz and Krishnamoorthy.me as well! I’m into this field since 4 years and I’m growing in a steady pace.
Q.2 None of us started off as an expert, right? What was the first online venture (or a blog) you undertook?
My first blog was completely experimental, it was known as mockbyte! I started sharing tech articles and then I changed the niche to Bitcoin and finally to blogging, but it was a blogspot domain and as I said it was completely an experimental stuff. My first blog is Blogbeatz.
Q.3 I’d like to know your journey to entering this beautiful world of blogging and online marketing.
It wasn’t so beautiful in the beginning but as time passed away the industry of blogging started gifting me a wonderful life with hands full of money and a bit fame! I still love this industry because my passion is here and I can’t ever leave that. I started off like every newbie but I had a strong belief that one day I can do it like all the other pro bloggers out there and finally I think I did something with my passion.
Q.4 One of the basics of a blog is a niche. How can one select an appropriate niche for a blog?
Finding a profitable niche without knowing anything about it doesn’t make sense at all. In my case, I go out and look for niches offline. Well, I also find good niches online but you can find a lot of profitable niches from offline as well. For example, I used to play snooker and I started writing about snooker a bit in fact it was helping me to make money. The most important thing about finding a niche is “knowledge” because you can only write about something you practically know!
Q.5 It takes a lot of time, but at a certain point, success strikes the doorsteps. What were the problems you encountered when before reaching to a successful point as an entrepreneur.
As an entrepreneur the weather was really tough and I learned a wonderful fact that the world needs solution. If they can have the best solution for their problem then probably our solution will surely go out of stock. The demand for a proper solution to a burning problem never ends. I kept on working hard but the result was not as expected and then I kept on working harder and smarter hence the result was more than expected 🙂
Q.6 Being a teenager, how important is it to have a startup in college days? Any plans for you indulging or beginning a startup?
Starting up is college doesn’t is not a mandatory stuff and practically there is no better time to start anything, according to me every time is a good time to start off things. College life is taking a lot of time, but if my ideas strikes at college then I should not waste time and I should work out to build my startup while I’m studying so it doesn’t matter whether we are in college or job or whatever. Entrepreneurship is always risky 🙂
Q.7 What’s your take on Affiliate Marketing? What’s the No.1 tool and strategy you’d recommend through which one can make passive income of Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a pool of opportunity, you can make as much as you can and sky is the limit! The best mantra of successful affiliate marketing is right targeting, perfect audience and some real good trust in us. We shouldn’t recommend stuff for money, we should recommend something because we find it useful. I use semrush and Google Adwords to make my affiliate marketing campaigns yield more money.
Q.8 What according to you is the biggest mistake you’d ever made in your online journey?
Becoming lazy and unwanted investments usually makes me broke at times. I think I killed Blogbeatz a bit because of my idiotic excuses to myself and some real worst laziness, but that’s how we learn right ? Mistakes always taught me wonderful lessons and I always believe in that .
Q.9 They say Content is the King. What are your views about it?
Indeed content is the King and as time passes away the value of content will surely improve a lot. Especially Google wants more accurate content to make their customers happy so if you’re looking for a long term money making stuff, then go with the theory of “content is the King”.
Q.10 What role does social media marketing plays in a marketer’s life?
Social media marketing is completely automated and it’s like spoon feeding to marketers. So if you’ve enough money and some marketing brain to select the perfect targeting then you can make profits. It’s all about investments and targeting 🙂
Q.11 How did you earn the first penny of your blog?
It wasn’t from my blog, it was from a client who paid me ₹500 for writing an article. My first blogging income was from affiliate and it was like $1 or something. I don’t really remember how I earned it with Blogbeatz but I believe that converting traffic came from search engine.
Q.12 Any last-minute tips for our lovely readers?
Being patient is very important in this industry, you can spam and make a lot of money but that’s not the way you do it! The ethical way is deliver the right content in the right manner so that you can make money in the right way 🙂
