It’s pretty true that half of those playing Pokemon Go don’t have any clue what a freaking thing it is, though I’m just not one of them. And the rest of them were, and are die-hard fans of them. The same is Japanese Olympic gymnast Kohei Uchimura.
According to ESPN.com, the six-time world champion gymnast spent his downtime playing Pokémon GO in Rio, not realizing just how much of a bill he was racking up. After receiving the news from his service provider that he had racked up a bill of nearly $5000, one of his friends said that, he looked literally dead on the team table!
His carrier reduced his bill to about $30 per day, and Uchimura was grateful.
“I really lucked out,” he said.
Pokémon GO might be an international phenomenon, but mobile carriers are still largely domestic organizations when it comes to data charges. Oops.
