Is ranking on Google really an easy task? Thus far, nobody has come up with a proper answer to this question because opinions vary in a great number regarding this. Those, who’ve already achieved it, say it is easy, whereas those, who are still struggling, have an entirely different answer.
Asking me, even I say that it isn’t a piece of cake to be eaten straight away. You gotta pay attention and do a lot of hard work in order to rank a keyword, even on the 1st page, and I totally agree with it! But this time, the tables turned over, and I just don’t know how, it became easy for me!
A week ago, I realised that the efforts (minor efforts I should say) I’d put up on a keyword have come up with flying colors and that I’d ranked it successfully on the #1 position 3470k other results, which ultimately resulted into:
‘Traffic, Traffic, and Traffic.’
Today, I’m unveiling the way I’d use to achieve it.
P.S. I’ve ranked 4 of my keywords through this technique that it had worked well with all of them. However, I just can’t GUARANTEE if it’ll work with the same efficiency for the keywords of all niche or not. So try it, your keyword will definitely rank, but I can’t assure the position.
How I ranked a keyword on #1 position like a walk in the park
Step 1: Select a trendy keyword
It’s a fact, that trends always work. For this experiment too, I picked up a trendy topic (The topic was trending about a month ago). It was about Intel’s new app namely True Key which helps its users sign in to protected websites like Facebook with facial passwords. So, thinking that it is worth sharing with my friends, I chose it.
In order to select trendy topics and keywords, you can use Facebook Trends or Twitter Trends. Most of my articles are based on their trends.
Step 2: Research the keyword (Competition, Results, and CPC)
Guess what guys, luck was there on a complete phase with me that day! I was SOOO lucky to see that there were 1,000,000 searches per month for the keyword, however the results were 34,70,000. But still, I tested my luck, and it came out in flying colors.
In order to research the information for a keyword, I use the Google AdWord Planner, andI recommend you to do the same!
Step 3: Write an authentic article! (P.S. I RECOMMEND YOU TO FIRST EXPERIENCE WHATEVER YOU’LL WRITE)
Generally, the keyhold to better Search Indexing is referred to be spamming, but something else did the work for me! All I did was spared out an hour of my busy schedule, researched what this new app is, experienced it, and then, wrote an authentic article, which was, indeed, appreciated by my users. According to me, instead of spamming the keywords all over the post, you should go for a relevant keyword (which make sense) and use it according to the article’s length.
For e.g. I wrote a 300 worded article on the app, using the keyword for 6 times, which is the recommended frequency.
Step 4: Proper SEO Analysis
As I told to you earlier also, spamming up the blog with the keyword isn’t the only way for better rankings. Proper frequency of keywords and analysing the SEO settings well is also profitable, and that’s what I opted to! I use the most trusted free SEO plugin for WordPress i.e. Yoast SEO plugin, and I analysed it at my best.
If you’re having it’s upgraded version, then along with the option for setting up the focus keyword, you’ll also get the option to select subordinate keywords. I selected the keyword to be ‘True Key Face Recognition’ along with subordinate keywords like True Key and Facial Recognition.
Also, I fulfilled the requirements of the Yoast SEO plugin to the fullest i.e. keyword frequency, using the keyword in the first spot, and just like that, and if you too want good results, KEEP YOAST SEO HAPPY!
Step 5: Next, Backlinks
So now, Keyword selection – done. Researching – done. Article – done. SEO Analysis – Done. Next comes, Backlinks Speaking honestly, I didn’t built much backlinks. Hardly 40 to 50, but it still work. Working with a great keyword, having low competition, Analysing SEO properly, and less backlinks, and work out as the magic recipe for you!
I don’t, honestly, have much to say about it, so let’s move on!
Step 6: The final wizard; Promotion
Honestly, I paid much more attention to promotions, as compared to SEO and researching. My promotional tactics were simple and similar to the rest, sharing it up over all the networks like Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
P.S. I recommend you not to share your links over groups on Facebook. Though it gives you more and more likes, it will cause a lot to your online Image. Also, if wanna post in, select relevant groups.
But, here comes the thing you gotta see. The rare thing I applied was contacting the Intel Officials and telling them about the article I’ll be writing about the newly launched app, and guess what, THEY ACCEPTED! They accepted to give me a decent share over their twitter wall and you can achieve the same! All you gotta do is, write a request in as professional manner as you can and send it to them!
If you’d be lucky and that your request will seem professional to them, THEY’LL DEFINITELY RESPOND!
Wrapping it all up!
And so, so, I’ve finished it all! Speaking honestly, it was fun writing this case study and it’s a fact that writing whatever you’ve experienced is always fun! So, coming to the conclusion, how was it??? The most common words you’d be hearing from the mouth of an expert when asking about Organic traffic are usually, ‘Dominate Google’. But this case study in nowhere like that!
This post isn’t basically about driving traffic, it’s about telling you that simplicity works too, and that it can help you earn profits!
OPPS! I just forgot to add the Google screenshot! 😛 Watch out the results after this hard work, I mean low work! GOSH, what am I saying!
Okk, watch out the results after my Search mechanism below:
