Not only did Samsung came up with the S7, but they also brought about the S7 Edge in the Indian market today. As we’ve been seeing with the S6 and S6 Edge, the ‘Edge’ flagship is a type of elder brother to the flagship with some updated specifications.
So, is the Edgy phone really up to the mark, let’s find it out!
The S7 Edge comes with a 5.5-inch of Super AMOLED display coupled with resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and pixel density of 534 ppi, quite the same that of S7. The processing and storage is also same for both; the S7 and S7 Edge.
It runs on the Quad-core Snapdragon 820 SoC or an Octa-Core Exynos 8 Octa 8890 (2.3GHz Quad + 1.6GHz Quad) processor. The devices’ come with the Android 6.0 marshmallow update with a much better 3600 mAh battery, but still, not up to the mark for the high price tag.
It has got 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, 32/64GB internal memory with can be expanded up to 200 GB using the MicroSD Card. 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac/ad, Bluetooth 4.2 LE & apt-X, GPS with GLONASS, NFC is what else you’d get in the device.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge was launched today at a price of Rs 56,900 (for 32GB variants) in Indian market in Black, Silver and Golden color variants for both the flagships. The devices will be going on sale from 18th March.
