Feb 16, 2015 by Sensible Peswani Leave a Comment

How many of you have played FarmVilee, Criminal Case and Candy Crush on Facebook? Majority of guys have played these games and among this majority was a small girl, Anila Andrade, who was passionate for games from the childhood itself and after a long period, beat the men in the game they owe and founded 99Games, one of India’s leading Gaming startups.

Today, on behalf of Sense Bin, we support and appreciate such spirits and present to you, the story of the girl who spent her childhood playing Tetris and successfully founded 99Games.

A glimpse to 99Games

Anila was born in Muscat. Her mom worked as a teacher. She is the 2nd child of her parents. During her primary studies, her mom moved to Mangalore along with her children while her father continued to work as an accountant in Muscat. Here, Anila studied Engineering at MIT and pursued her MBA degree from ICFAI.

Anila was always a studious student, always came out with flying colors in her batch and was an activist in extra-curricular competitions. She was an expert in playing violin and was a member of college band. Other than being a part cultural as well as musical activities, she was also an excellent Volleyball player.

Coincidently, Anila became a member of Robosoft Technologies, founded by Rohit Bhat. The CEO considered her an integral member of Robosoft and gave her numerous opportunities to prove her efficiency. Here’s what Anila has to say of her experiences with RoboSoft:

“In 2008, when the App Store was launched, Rohit decided that it was time for us to start working on games for mobiles and I took on the role of associate producer at a new company 99Games, which was a spinoff of Robosoft Technologies. I’m now in my eleventh year at Robosoft/99Games. I’m game producer at 99Games and couldn’t be happier!”

Gaming certainly didn’t had much scope in India at the launch of 99Games but today, Gaming has become an integral part all over India. Many renowned Indian colleges teach gaming and help their students pursue success in it. Working as a producer in 99Games, Anila gotta manage different duties at the same time. Here, Anila works not only as a designer but also as a monetization expert, and a co-ordinator.
